How Does the Hebrew Gematria Calculator Work?
Each method assigns different numerical values to Hebrew letters:
- Mispar Hechrachi: The standard system, used most commonly in traditional Hebrew gematria. It assigns values from 1 to 400 to Hebrew letters (א = 1, ב = 2, etc.).
- Mispar Gadol: Includes higher values (500-900) for the final forms (sofit). For example, final Kaf (ך) equals 500 rather than 20.
- Mispar Katan: Reduces all values to single digits by removing zeros. For example, Yud (י) becomes 1 instead of 10, and Kuf (ק) becomes 1 instead of 100.
- Mispar Siduri: Assigns values 1 through 22 based on the letter's ordinal value in the Hebrew alphabet. First letter Aleph (א) is 1, second letter Bet (ב) is 2, and so on through the last letter Tav (ת) at 22.
- Mispar Bone'eh: Uses standard values (Mispar Hechrachi) but creates a running total, adding each letter's value to all previous values in the word.
