How Does the Greek Gematria Calculator Work?
The calculator uses the standard Greek isopsephy system of 27 letters (24 classical Greek letters and three letters which are now obsolete but historically used for numbering).
In this system, the first nine letters are numbered sequentially (1, 2, ..., 9), the second nine letters are the same sequence multiplied by ten (10, 20, ..., 90), and the third nine letters are the same multiplied by a hundred (100, 200, ..., 900). The isopsephy value of a word or phrase is the sum of its letter values.

What Is the Difference Between Greek Gematria And Hebrew Gematria?

Greek isopsephy predates Hebrew gematria, and the development of Hebrew gematria was probably influenced by the Greek system. The term "gematria" itself comes from the Greek word geōmetriā, or "geometry".
